Oppressive heat returns and will continue through the weekend. High pressure will heat us back up today with a mix of clouds and sunshine. A heat advisory will be in effect for the entire area from 11am until 7pm. the heat index could range from 103 to 106 this afternoon. A stray thunderstorm is possible, but most places will stay dry. A weak cold front will move into the area on Thursday with a better chance for thunderstorms, however, it will not cool is down. High temperatures will stay in the 90s with the heat index possibly ranging from 105° to 109° Thursday afternoon. Expect another heat advisory for Thursday.
The hot and humid weather will continue through the weekend with the heat index continuing to run from 103° to 107°. The heat and humidity could spark an isolated thunderstorm on Saturday but another cold front will bring a better chance for thunderstorms on Sunday. This front will drop temperatures back to normal for next week, but it will still be hot and humid with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s.
