I'm not anti-gun....

If you listen to the show, you know that I don't own a gun and I can count on one hand how many times I've fired one, but I don't want to take your rights away from owning guns.     I still say there's no reason why anyone needs a military-style weapon at home.    There are none...and don't tell me "I want to because I can".   I don't want to get into that arguement anyway.   I want to re-iterate the statement that gun-right supporters say: Why don't we just enforce the laws we have on the books now?    Okay...I agree that it's mainly bad guys with no permits that are causing most of the gun mayhem in the country...and it's being done with handguns, not AR-15s with 30-round magazines.     But, how do you get the guns out of the hands of the everyday bad guys?     Do you go door to door and check every house and apartment?   Do you stop everyone on the street and wand them with a metal detector.     If you were worried about the right to bear arms, what about the rights against illegal search and seizure?        If it weren't for the bad guys guys making all the headlines, the lawful citizens who have guns wouldn't be in this battle.     So, the question remains...how do you disarm the bad guys?      I'm seriously asking...it's not rhetorical.      Right now, you have to wait until they're caught committing a crime before you can get their gun away and then you can enforce the existing laws.      Until then, stay out of Chicago.
