18-year-old Melissa King, who won the Miss Delaware Teen USA pageant in November, resigned yesterday after a porno video of her surfaced online. Ooops! Apparently she shot the video right after she turned 18 because she needed the money. In an interview right before she shoots her porno she talks about her age and why she's doing it. She said she did it because she needed the money, and she does beauty pageants.

As a former Miss Minnesota Teen All-American 2002 winner, I understand the responsibility you inherit as a title-holder. You are not only representing your state but the pageant program as well. Pageant winners are held to a higher standard during her reign. I am sad for the situation Melissa found herself in but I am glad that she has resigned. Melissa is not a good example for young girls who look up to her or for the Miss Teen USA program and indeed the runner-up deserved to take her crown and sash.
