I love a good food truck - especially a food truck festival. It's a great excuse to stuff your face (because you have to try something from each truck or you haven't really experienced it all). Where I went to college in California food trucks were all the rage. You could find one on any street corner. But here in South Carolina they are heavily regulated and you can't ever find one. It made me really appreciate those fine trucks even more. So when I heard there was a food truck festival coming to Murrells Inlet I put all of my other weekend plans on hold to go! The festival was set to happen on Saturday but because of the rain it was pushed back a day to Sunday. That's fine - no biggie. The problem was that of the nine trucks that were supposed to be there on Saturday only three showed up on Sunday. Oh well, I still managed to eat way too much so maybe it was a blessing in disguise. I tried a grilled cheese on cinnamon bread with deep fried bacon and Munster. That was my favorite of the day. I also tried a SPAM taco - my first experience trying the stuff - not bad but I couldn't get over the idea of it. And the festival wasn't just all about food - there was live music, animal’s part of a pet adoption and even a fortune teller. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon in that sun we've been patiently waiting for.
