Socastee High School "Bounces" Their Way Into State Championship

May 13, 2013 -- 9:10am

Congratulations to the Socastee High School Men's Tennis team for winning the Class AAA this past weekend! The Braves defeated Chapin to win the school's first state title in 31 years, when the men's tennis team one the state title in 1982. Coach Kirk McQuiddy, in his first year as head coach, should be very proud of his team. The Braves ended the season with a 14-1 record.  It was yet another "feather in the headwear" for the Braves in one of the better overall sports seasons for the school in quite some time. The Socastee Football team capped off an undefeated regular season with a deep run into the state playoffs before losing to the eventual Class AAA champ Hartsville. The Men' Soccer team avenged that loss to Hartsville with a 5-0 win over the Red Foxes this weekend to advance to the Lower State Class AAA championship. Congrats again to the Men's Tennis squad! Let's hope the Soccer team can follow suit! Go Braves !!!
