For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to see Niagara Falls. And this week – that dream finally came true! It was more spectacular than I pictured. In fact, it's so amazing it's been named one of The Seven Natural Wonders of the World. I guess it’s true…pictures really don’t do it justice. We lucked out – it was the most beautiful New York spring day with lots of sunshine which made our tour all the more amazing. There are many ways to tour the falls, as you probably know. But we decided to “Explore the Roar” on Maid of the Mist. You get one of those iconic blue ponchos, board the double-decker boat, and go right up to the “Horseshoe” falls. The Maid of the Mist tour is a great way to experience the falls because during your boat ride in you get facts and unique stories about the area, the history and much more. I highly recommend Maid of the Mist if you’re looking to get a unique perspective. And the price is right! Tickets are about $15 per person – less than I expected. Kids 6-12 are $9. Kids 5 and under are free!
The Maid of the Mist stops in the whirpool of tides right under the falls! The power, the roar, that amazing sight literally brought a tear to my eye. It was amazing to feel the awesomeness of God in that moment. My husband and I promised to bring our (future) kids back here one day – it is a sight to be seen! And with the seasonal, non-stop flights to Niagara Falls area (that are inexpensive) on Spirit Airlines – it is a great time to get up there and do it for yourself and your family. The flight is around 2 hours from Myrtle Beach.
